PARENT & FAMILY ENGAGEMENT We know that engaged families make for successful students, and welcome family engagement in every way we can. Common Ground High School seeks to build lasting relationships with our students as well as our parents. For more information or to involved, contact Amy Champagne (203) 389-4333 x1206 Parent Leadership Team The Parent Leadership Team (PLT) consists of a group of dedicated parents who wish to support Common Ground High School. The PLT provides feedback on important school-related decisions, encourages parent engagement, plans fundraisers, and social events. The group typically meets on Saturdays from 9-11am. A light breakfast is always provided. The PLT understands that parents are busy - if you cannot attend a meeting, but would like to be involved in other ways, we are always seek parents willing to help out with fundraisers, social events, and advocacy. You can also catch up by reading the meeting minutes from our last meeting. Parent Workshops Common Ground offers monthly evening workshops to help parents support their students through High School. Previous topics include Financial Aid 101, promoting healthy decision making, Internet safety. Our next family workshop will be held on Monday May 16th . Dinner will be served at 5:30, workshop will run from 6-7:30pm. Monthly Topic: Internet Safety 101 - everything families need to know about keeping their children safe in our fast paced world. Topics will include social networking, cyberbullying, and more! Academics and Parent-Teacher Conferences Parent-teacher conferences happen in the fall and winter, around trimester mid-terms. Teachers are always available upon request. Call the front office, or contact a teacher by email. School Climate At Common Ground High School our staff and students take pride in our positive school community. Our students handbook lays out our expectations of students. We set the expectations high, and our students live up to them. Read more about our school policies. School Food At Common Ground, we believe in cultivating habits of healthy living -- including good nutrition. For this reason, every Common Ground student eats for free through our school meals program. Common Ground provides free breakfast, a morning snack, lunch, and a 4pm snack every day.
